Stokes-Clark
August 12, 1958 – August 6, 2023
On the morning of Sunday, August 6, 2023, Tracey Clark peacefully made her heavenly transition from labor to rest. Tracey Marie Stokes-Clark was born on August 12, 1958, to the late Jesse and Shirley Stokes. She is predeceased by her brother Jesse Linwood Stokes.
Tracey was a native of Norfolk, and she was the 4th out of 7 children. She was educated by the Norfolk Public School System and graduated from the Norfolk State University Nursing Program. She worked in the Candy Stripes at Norfolk General Hospital and for various nursing facilities in the Hampton Roads area.
Tracey loved God, and in 1991 she joined Agape Full Gospel under the leadership of Dr. Adrienne M. Lee alongside Elder Kathryn Swan and Deaconess Alberta Ford. During that time, they formed the 1st children'schurch ministry and she treated every child like her own. In 2001, Tracey was ordained as a Missionary where she faithfully served all God's people. Shewas also an Eastern Star with the 34th chapter and the name given to her was Elizabeth Fragrant Rose.
One of her simple pleasures in life was gathering with family and friends to play cards as Tracey was a passionate Bidwiz and Spades player. She loved toeat her a fried pork chop, an Italian sausage or Yok while laughing and being amongst those she loved the most. In 2006, she married her best friend and soul mate, Alvin L. Clark where the two of them became a blended family with their children. Tracey will forever be cherished in the hearts of children; her daughter, Ginger Marie Stokes and her son, Shirlon Lemel Stokes. Seven grandchildren; Nehziya, Shirlon Jr., Earl III, Ywdelle, Jakeye, Brooklynn, and Dior. Two sisters, Cheryl Nash and Melanie Forman; Three brothers; Harvey Stokes (Charlotte), Glenn Stokes (Jackie) and Kelly Stokes (Tracie). She also leaves a host of stepchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and numerous friends.
A funeral will be 12pm Wednesday; August 16, 2023 at Bethany Baptist Church; 2587 Campostella Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23324; visitation will take place from 4-6 on Tuesday; August 15, 2023 at Fitchett-Mann Funeral Services.
