Chesapeake-With humbled hearts and consoling minds, the Fitchett-Mann Funeral Services Family serves notice that Mrs. Mary Catherine Askew laid down the cares of this world on Monday, September 22, 2025. From there, she picked up her new wardrobe and golden keys for her everlasting life in Heaven.

The Glorious and Triumphant Life Celebration for "Mother Catherine" will be held 11:00am Wednesday; October 1, 2025  at The Mount Chesapeake; 215 Las Gaviotas Blvd, Chesapeake, VA 23322.  She will lie in state for a final glimpse for family and friends 2 hours prior to service. There will also be a viewing on Tuesday; September 30, 2025 from 4-6pm at Fitchett-Mann Liberty Street location. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park; Chesapeake. It is in this place that her physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.
