Obituary

Norfolk-Julius Sinclair Cuffee of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025. He was born on May 31, 1973, to Dinia Cuffee and Osia Olds Jr.

Julius Sinclair Cuffee was a true chess player in life—not only across the board, but in the intentional, wise, and steady way he moved through the world, always calm and cool, no matter the moment. A proud Miami Dolphins and Lakers fan, he carried a laid-back, chill presence and a deep love for old-school music that reflected the soulfulness of his character. Julius attended Chesapeake Public Schools and later earned his GED, a testament to his determination and drive. As the firstborn child, he led with a kind heart, a friendly spirit, and a natural desire to help anyone in need. A hustler and a go-getter in everything he pursued, Julius was truly one of a kind—someone whose life, impact, and essence can never be fully captured by words. His memory lives on as a light and a legacy cherished by all who loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Dinia Cuffee (Mark Mobley) and Osiah Olds; his partner, Michelle Bagby; his children: Kenyon White (Heather), Oshay White and Carolyn Beamon (Emanuel); grandchildren: Kemya White, Aubrey Stone, Axel Edwards, Juvonni Beamon and Ayana Beamon; his siblings: William Cuffee, Nakisha Cuffee, Anthony Cuffee, Antonio Cuffee, and Jasmine Olds; his nieces: Brittney Foreman, Tanya Foreman, Nevaeh Cuffee and Winter Cuffee; one nephew, Nahjah Cuffee; aunt: Ennis Edge (Frederick); uncles: Gene Cuffee (Beulah), Dynamic Allah(Crystal), Kent Cuffee, and Jerome Cuffee. He is predeceased by his grandparents: James and Clara Cuffee, Osia Sr, and Mary Olds; step-grandmother: Shirley Cuffee; aunt: Laura Jenkins; uncles: James Cuffee Jr. and Timothy Cuffee, and a host of other relatives and friends.
