Ann Cuffee
September 3, 1952 – November 11, 2025
Chesapeake-Our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, auntie, loved one and friend, Joyce Phyllis Ann Cuffee, departed this life and entered the heavenly gates of her new forever home on Tuesday; November 11 ,2025. She was born in Chesapeake, VA to the late and Pettigrew & Virginia James Cuffee and was 73 years old.
Joyce was the heart of our family and the glue that held the family together. She was known for her kind heart, warm smile, her joking ways, strong personality, not having a filter and always said the first thing that came to her mind.
Joyce served the in the Women Army Corps. She worked as a housekeeping manager at Comfort Suites and went on to work for the City of Chesapeake in housekeeping where she later retired. Joyce was also a member of First Church of South Norfolk.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her siblings: Marrian Cuffee, James Cuffee, Gayla Cuffee, Samuel Cuffee, Matthew Cuffee and Virginia Cuffee.
Left to share her beautiful memories of Joyce are Frank Woodhouse (husband); one son, Antonio Cuffee; one daughter, Donna Cowell (Julius); three grandkids: Jayla Cowell, Torshia Gibson and Antonio Scott; great grandkids: Sharriyah Bradshaw, Promise Gibson and Shymierr Gibson; two sisters: Gloria Cuffee and Pattie Jean Fitzgerald; four brothers: Kaldin Cuffee (Carolyn), Melvin Cuffee, Donald Cuffee (Regina) and Hosie W. Cuffee, Sr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Homegoing Celebration will be 1pm Friday; November 21, 2025 at Mount Bethel Baptist Church; 4636 Indian River Road; Va. Beach, VA. Viewing will be 6:30-8:30pm Thursday at Fitchett-Mann FS-Rodgers St. location. Her earthly remains will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery; Suffolk, Va. The family ask for your continued prayers, comfort, and support during this time.
