Va. Beach- Joseph A. Leach, 66, of Virginia Beach, VA passed away December 27th at 6:00 pm of complications due to an 11 month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Joseph Allen Leach was born on September 13, 1958 in Stafford Springs, CT to Donald E. and Janet E. Leach. In 1959, the Leach family moved to Burlington, Vermont and later to Milton, Vermont.

Mr. Leach graduated from Milton High School in 1976, and in 1977 joined the US Navy. He served for 20 years as a Navy Lithographer in a variety of ship and shore commands from Hawaii to Norfolk, VA and Washington D.C. which also included serving at the Pentagon before retiring from the Navy in 1997.

In 1985, Mr. Leach married the Love of his Life Jill Elizabeth Hutchinson of Riverside, CT. In 1989, they welcomed a Very Special son, Christopher Ryan Leach.

After Mr. Leach retired from the Navy, he and his family settled in Virginia Beach, VA where he worked for printing companies in Newport News and Virginia Beach before retiring from Allegra Marketing, Print and Mail in January, 2024. He was active in faith, serving as a Deacon with the Bayside Church of Christ in Virginia Beach.

Mr. Leach is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jill E. Leach; his son, Christopher Leach; a sister, Donna White of Georgia, VT; two brothers: John Leach of Georgia, VT and Dennis Leach of Port Charlotte, FL; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Leach will be sorely missed by those who knew him; he was a Wonderful Husband, Father, Brother, Friend & He was a Great Example of a Christian; which showed throughout his Difficult Journey with Cancer. He never gave up until his body gave up on him.
