Chesapeake- John “Rabbit” Anthony, Jr. departed this life on Thursday; May 7, 2026 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. There will no no more pain and suffering. John Anthony, Jr. was born December 12, 1948 to the late John Sr. and Nannie Anthony in Norfolk County.

John attended Carver High School in Chesapeake, VA. After school, John became a Truck Driver and Mechanic. Rabbit loved working on cars.

John is predeceased by his son, John “Lil Rabbit” Williams; his parents, John Sr. and Nannie Anthony; two brothers: Ernest Outlaw and Sam Anthony; and two sisters: Louise King and Queenie Thomas.

He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters: Catherine and Patricia Anthony of Chesapeake, VA; one brother, Lee Anthony (Frances) of Hampton, VA; four sisters: Ernestine Holley of Windsor, NC, Mary Anthony-Gooden, Catherine Richardson and Patricia Anthony, all of Chesapeake, VA; two grandchildren: Khalik Williams and Victoria Bonney; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held Saturday; May 16, 2026 at Fitchett-Mann Funeral Services; 1821 E. Liberty Street; Chesapeake, VA  23324.  Viewing will be 2 hours prior to service.
