Texas-Imonte Eugene Passmore, a beloved son, father, brother, nephew, grandson, and friend, passed away on May 26, 2026, at the tender age of 22.
Imonte was born on March 23, 2004, in Richmond, Virginia, to his loving parents, Shatora Benson and Charles Brewton. He spent his childhood years growing up in Chesapeake, Virginia, before later moving to Dallas, Texas, where he continued to build friendships, pursue his passions, and create lasting memories. Raised in a family grounded in faith and a love for God, Imonte was blessed with a strong spiritual foundation that helped shape his caring heart, strong values, and love for others.
Imonte was educated in Chesapeake Public Schools and attended Indian River High School before relocating to Dallas, Texas, where he attended Richardson and Mesquite High Schools. Throughout his life, he was known for his infectious smile, playful sense of humor, and ability to brighten any room he entered. A natural jokester with a warm spirit, he brought joy and laughter to family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Above all else, Imonte was a devoted and proud father to his beloved son, Imonte Passmore, Jr. Fatherhood was his proudest accomplishment and a testament to the legacy he wished to leave in this world. His love for his son was immeasurable, and he cherished every moment they shared together.
Imonte had a deep passion for music. He loved singing, dancing, rapping, playing the drums, and was proud to have a published song. He also enjoyed basketball, gaming, and following sports. Whether on the basketball court, behind a drum set, spending time with loved ones, or making others laugh, Imonte embraced life with energy, authenticity, and heart.
Imonte was preceded in death by his grandfather, Anthony Eugene Passmore; his great-grandmother, Mary Catherine Askew; and his beloved uncle, Dwight "Dada" Harris.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his son, Imonte Passmore, Jr., of Dallas, Texas; his mother, Shatora Benson (Joshua), of Dallas, Texas; his father, Charles "CT" Brewton (Carrie), of Richmond, Virginia; his brothers, Ian Mullen, of Dallas, Texas; and Ashaad Harris, Brandon Jordan, and Jerome Williams, all of Chesapeake, Virginia; his sisters, Akira Brewton, Aniyah Brewton, and Azariyah Brewton, of Richmond, Virginia; his maternal grandmother, Stephanie Green, of Newburg, Maryland; his paternal grandmother, Melody Brewton, of Richmond, Virginia; his uncles, Brian Passmore, of Los Angeles, California, and Glenvert Green, Jr., of Newburg, Maryland; his bonus mother, Sheniqua Williams (Franklyn), of Chesapeake, Virginia, whose love, guidance, and support helped shape his life; his close friends, Chitivias Anthony, Jashawn Fleming, and Ananaious Wilson, of Dallas, Texas.
He was also blessed with a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.
As we remember Imonte Eugene Passmore, we honor a life lived fully and fiercely—a life that danced to its own beat and sang its own song. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the memories he created will continue to echo warmly in the hearts of his family and friends forevermore.
Forever Loved. Forever Remembered. Forever Missed.
