Norfolk-Estella Hattie Newsome, 70, of Norfolk, Virginia, slipped away very peacefully in her home on November 27, 2023 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Known as "Stella", she grew up in the Ghent & Huntersville areas of Norfolk, Virginia where she made many lifelong friends. Estella lived her life on her terms with boldness and love. She wasundoubtedly one of the most giving people one would ever meet.

Estella was predeceased by her mother, Hattie Bell Newsome; her father, John Munden; her sister, Mary L. Newsome; and her daughter, Kimberly Y. Newsome. Left to cherish her memories areher daughter, Juanita Newsome; her brother, Ronald L. Newsome Sr.; her bonus brother, Coty Welborn (Vickie); five grandchildren (Tashima, Kevin, Roshanda, Romel & Tyron); 11 great grandchildren, including her sidekick, Nazari; a special niece &nephew, Sabrina Williams (and Ranard) and a host of other lovingfamily and friends whom she cherished.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 Saturday; December 2, 2023 at Fitchett-Mann Funeral Services; 1146 Rodgers Street; Chesapeake, VA 23324. Viewing will be 4-6pm Friday and 1 hour prior to service at the funeral home. Please continue to keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
