Condolences

So sorry for the loss of Joe. I remember him at Oscar Smith. He was a nice young man then. I'm saddened to know that he had been ill and had passed away. We remember our classmates when we were in our teens. At that time, we never think that one day we will be older, get married, or not, have our own families, get ill and then pass away. This is a reality and I now realize that we cannot escape our number when it's called. Live life to the fullest and love everyone. May his soul Rest in Peace with our Father, Jesus Christ. 🙏♥️

I was Blessed to meet Edward Jose Russell at the age of fourteen when we both attended Oscar Smith High School. We became friends through our mutual friends Vickie Regina Brown-Bailey (RIP), Russell Lee and Gerald Nash. Joe was kind, hilarious and a Wonderful Friend. We lost contact for several decades however when we reunited in 2023 it was as if no time had passed. Neighborhood Friends, Vernon Cromuel, Jerome Holley, Stanley Thomas and Oscar Smith Friends rallied around Joe to support him during his illness. The memories shared and the laughter was truly a Gift. Oftentimes after I visited Joe I left feeling on cloud 9 as he had motived, inspired and made me laugh as he'd done decades prior. While I am saddened by Joe's death I am THANKFUL that he Lived and Loved and was Loved in return. Condolences to Joe's Son Jamie, his grand children, his brother other family members, friends and his faithful CNA, Shamicia Thompson.
