Corey Lee
Babb-Knight
May 30, 1985 – March 4, 2025
"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort." -2 Corithians 1:3
Chesapeake-On March 4, 2025, Corey Lee Babb-Knight received his wings and went home to be with his Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. Corey, also known as "Big Daddy" by his father was born on May 30, 1985 to his parents Jessie M. L. Knight Sr. and Jeanette S. Knight. Corey received his education through the Isle of Wight and Suffolk Public Schools. Corey attended Norfolk State University, Norfolk, Virginia.
During his early years, Corey devoted his life to the Lord and became a member of Pulaski Baptist Church in Carrsville, Virginia. Later in life, he reaffirmed his faith and joined Faith Works Fellowship Cathedral.
Corey had a deep love for sports. He played football and baseball with the Holland Athletic Association and later followed in his father's footsteps as a catcher for the Carrsville Woodpeckers baseball team. A passionate Seattle Seahawks fan, Corey's enthusiasm for the game never wavered. From childhood, he also had a fondness for the Ninja Turtles and enjoyed building model cars.
Corey cherished time with his friends and family. He met the love of his life, Leeanna, at a LoCo BananaZ event, and from that night on, they were inseparable. In the beginning, they even had matching LoCo snapbacks. After Leeanna playfully claimed Corey's, he had to get another one. Their storybook romance led to marriage, three beautiful daughters, and a life built on love and devotion. Corey's and Leeanna's favorite love song is "Amazed" by Lonestar.
A hardworking and dedicated professional, Corey spent five years with Huntington Ingalls Industries (Newport News Shipbuilding) and one year at AutoZone in Chesapeake.
