Norfolk- On Friday; May 16, 2026, our beloved Bertha Forbes transitioned to the heavens above and gained her angel wings. She was born in Chesapeake, VA to the late Jesse Arnold & Flossie Judd.

Bertha had a very happy personality. She loved fried chicken and spinach, had a sweet tooth out of this world......cakes on cakes! Bertha had a contagious laugh and was always happy go lucky. She was very family oriented and would support anything that the family endeavored on.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Towanda Forbes; two brothers: Samuel Shapellie and Jesse Arnold; and a sister, Caroline Posey.

Left to cherish precious memories are husband, James T. Forbes; her children: Keith Arnold, John Arnold, Ronchelle (Man) Jackson, Joseph Jackson, Antonio Jackson, Crystal Arnold,  Barry Roberts and Sean Hill; three sisters: Mary Arnold, Gladys Sumner and Marian Morrison; two brothers: Randy Arnold and Marcell Patterson; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

A viewing will be 12-2pm Saturday at the funeral home. Please keep the family in your prayers.
