Alpina Albritton
Davis
May 12, 1938 – July 13, 2025
Chesapeake-On Sunday; July 13, 2025, Alpina A. Davis, passed away. She was a native of Mason, Tennessee and was born the fifth child of sixteen children on May 12, 1938 to the late Elgie (Sam) Albritton and Ester Lee Albritton. She was also predeceased by her husband, Wilotha Davis of NC; a son, Gregory Alan Davis; two sisters: Helen Rozar and Evelyn Carter; and three brothers: Willie Elgie Albritton, Roland Albritton and Julius Albritton.
Alpina was raised on a farm and attended Gailor High School in Mason, TN. She retired from Chesapeake Public Schools after 30 years of service.
Mrs. Davis was a former member of Providence United Church of Christ where she was very active in many auxillaries. To name a few: she was on the Senior Usher Board for over 30 years, #2 Choir, Church Coucil, Constitution & Bylaws Committee, Planning Committee, Audit Committee, Women's Fellowship, Food Bank Ministry, Trustee Board for over 30 years and had a major hand in building of the present church today and a visionary of the building's addition, and served as the Sexton for many years which she ran with a strong arm. Later, Alpina became a watch care member of Fellowship UCC,
Left to cherish memories are her two sons: Donald O. Davis (Linda) and Kenneth L. Davis; two grandsons who she raised, William and Wynton Davis; three sisters: Annie M. Pruitt, Eva N. Drake (Victor), Carolyn Albritton; seven brothers: James Albritton, Milton Albritton (Rosa), Rufus Albritton (Carolyn), Raymond Albritton (Althea), Nathaniel Albritton (Delphine), Larry Albritton (Betty), and Dwayne Albritton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Davis will be buried on Monday; July 21, 2025 at 11:00 am at Roosevelt Memorial Park; Chesapeake, VA. There will no public viewing. Please keep the family in your prayers.
