Obituary

Chesapeake-On Tuesday; April 25, 2023, God dispatched his angel to bring our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend Allen Monroe Nixon, home to be with the Lord.

Allen was born September 27, 1953 in Norfolk County. He was the 3rd child of 9 born to the late Jessie Fuller & LeVaughn Nixon Fuller. Allen a.k.a "Big Sue" or "Main" was raised in Money Point and later moved to Broadlawn Park. He attended Chesapeake Public Schools and was an outstanding basketball player. Allen was a heavy equipment operator and drove dump trucks for many years. To know Sue was to love him. He was always guaranteed to give you a good laugh! During football season, you would faithfully see him dressed in his Pittsburgh Steelers gear. Sue loved spending time with his wife, kids, family and friends. He will truly be missed by all.

Allen was predeceased by his parents, Jessie & LeVaughn Nixon-Fuller. He leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife, Arlene Nixon; five sons: Allen Baskerville, La'Varr Barron, Bryan Simons (Tanisha), Hamilton Rountree and Lewis Rountree, Jr.; one daughter, Miranda Rountree; two brothers: Danny Nixon (Doris) and Antonio Fuller (Lakeesha); six sisters: Gloria Williams (Garland), Gail Taylor (Keith), Jaye Vaughan (Greg), Debbie Lawton (Thaddeus), Lola Fuller-Rashad and Tonya Fuller-Stevens; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one aunt, Lillie Harvin; fhis father-in-law, Joseph Lewis, Sr.; three sisters-in-law: Valerie Davis, Brenda Davis and Andrea Saunders (Ray); two brothers-in-law: Joseph Lewis, Jr. and Kelvin Dozier; and a host of nieces,nephews, cousins, his special friends, "guys from the hole", other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday; May 6, 2023 at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church; Chesappeake, VA. Burial will be at Centerville AME Church Cemetery; Chesapeake, VA. Viewing will be 6:30-8:30pm Friday; May 5, 2023 at Fitchett-Mann Funeral Services; Chesapeake, VA. Please continue to keep the family in your prayers.
