Chesapeake-On February 22, 2025, Albert peacefully transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home. He was born April 9,1937 to the late  Albert Butts, Sr and Mary Susan Flora Butts. He was one of 10 children and educated in the South Norfolk Public School System. He was a graduate of G.W. Carver High School and also served in the U.S. Army.

Albert married his high school sweetheart, Barbara, and from this union 5 children were born: Albert III, Gregory, Jacquelyn, Steven and Kimberly.  He was employed by J. Henry Holland and retired after 40 years of service.  Albert was a member of New Central Baptist Church where he sang in the Men's Choir, was an Usher, and served as a Deacon until he was no longer able to.

He is predeceased by his parents, Albert Sr and Mary; his wife, Barbara; a daughter, Kimberly; a sister, Sharlene; a brother, Alfred; and great granddaughter, Natavia.  He leaves to cherish his memories 3 sons: Albert III (Vera), Gregory Sr. (Wanza) and Steven (Shantel); and daughter, Jacquelyn (Calvin); 12 grandchildren: Tiffany (Clayton), Gregory Jr., Quinnisha (Maurice), Stephen (Sharrie), Kimyatta, David, Kimani (Shakira), Larry Jr, Nailah, Saidah, Lareese and Serenity; 11 great grandchildren: Kayonna, Afflina, Dakota, Javon, Nijah, Morgan, Cameron, Zuri, Nasir, Dream and Gialani;  5 sisters: Beatrice Wilkins, Claudette Cuffee, Constance Bailey, Ella Harrison (Charlie) and Myrtle Hundley; 2 brothers: Herman Flora and Edward Butts Sr (Delois); and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00am Monday; March 3, 2025 at New Central Baptist Church; 700 Walker Avenue; Norfolk, Va and his earthly remains will lie in state 1 hour prior to the funeral. Burial with military honors will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, VA.  Viewing will be 4-6pm Sunday; March 2, 2025 at Fitchett-Mann Funeral Services; 1821 E. Liberty Street; Chesapeake, VA.

The family will be receiving family and guest from Thursday; February 27th-Saturday; March 1st at Mr. Butt's residence @ 1203 Old Atlantic Avenue; Chesapeake, VA  23324.  Please keep the family in your prayers.
